Newark teen sews pillows for the homeless

A 17-year-old model from Newark is bringing comfort to the homeless by sewing pillows.

While attending casting calls last year in New York, Davanna Booker noticed the homeless population and wanted to do something about it. She then started Pillows for Change.

In a year, Booker has sewn and distributed about 500 pillows for the homeless, senior citizens and local children's hospitals.

When she was 11, Booker organized a back-to-school drive for Newark kids in need.
