Forecast: Heavy snow possible Friday

Temperatures began in the mid-50s this morning across parts of the Garden State. New Jersey is expected to see mild weather today, but conditions are expected to significantly change by Friday.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist James Gregorio says temperatures today might creep into the 60s, with a mixture of sun and clouds.

Clouds are expected to develop overnight, with temperatures in the mid-30s. A winter weather advisory has been issued for tonight at 8 p.m. until Friday morning at 10 a.m. for northern and central parts of the state.

It's expected to snow for several hours Friday morning, which could delay or close some schools. The snow should end by the afternoon.

The weekend should see mostly sunny skies with colder temperatures in the 30s.
