NJ state troopers hurt in crash near Delaware Water Gap

Two New Jersey state troopers were hurt in a crash on a highway near the Delaware Water Gap.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation says the crash happened around 2:45 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 80, about 4 miles from the Pennsylvania line. The state police later tweeted that the troopers' injuries were not life-threatening.

The crash initially closed three of the interstate's four westbound lanes approaching the Delaware Water Gap.

Traffic was backed up for several miles along I-80 immediately following the crash. Some drivers say they were stuck in traffic for about two hours.

The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
