High winds bring down large tree, down power lines in Wyckoff

High winds are causing many problems across New Jersey, including Wyckoff where winds brought down a large tree that landed on power lines.

Two locations were hit hard on Princeton Avenue, Lafayette and Radcliffe streets, leaving dozens without power.

"We looked outside and saw this mess here we didn't realize it was coming from down the street," says Susan Wilkin of Wyckoff.

Wilkin says she and her family heard the strong winds blowing in the middle of the night. Then suddenly, the power was out.

"We heard the snap this morning. A loud boom of the tree sound, sounded like a tree came down," says Wilkin. "Obviously, it's a phone pole here and so it woke us up."

Once it was safe to go outside, Wilkin was happy to find no damage to her home or vehicles.

PSEG officials hope to have the power stored later today.
