Police: Homeless man had bullets hidden in toothpaste tube

Port Authority police say that they have arrested a homeless man who had a loaded gun and bullets hidden in a toothpaste tube at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

According to a release, officers saw Amos Stowers, 30, acting suspiciously. The officers say that they suspected Stowers of smoking marijuana in public.

Police say that they found Stowers in possession of a loaded Kel-Tec 9 pistol, a switchblade knife, a folding knife and 106 rounds of ammunition. Police say 17 of those rounds were hollow point bullets. Some of the ammunition was found hidden inside a tube of toothpaste that was inside Stowers' backpack.
