Weather: Cooler temps follow in wake of strong storms

A line of powerful storms lashed New Jersey with heavy rains, lightning and strong winds Saturday evening.

The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for a wide swath of the state, but that warning has since expired.

The storms had prompted tornado warnings in parts of Pennsylvania, Virgnia and Maryland before they made their way to New Jersey.

Now that the nasty weather has cleared out, New Jersey is seeing a return to more winter-like temperatures for the rest of the weekend. Overnight temperatures will dip down into the 30s, and Sunday's high temperature will reach only the mid-40s.

Monday will see sunshine followed by increasing clouds with highs around 55 degrees.
