75-year-old custodian-turned-artist Robert Sundholm honored by North Bergen officials

A custodian at North Bergen Town Hall was honored by officials Wednesday for his artwork.

Robert Sundholm, 75, started painting when he was 60 years old. An attorney and fellow artist noticed his work and encouraged him to take it to the next level.

Sundholm's artwork has been featured by both People Magazine and The New York Times.

The North Bergen mayor and Board of Commissioners presented Sundholm with a proclamation for his work.

The artwork is also being featured at New York City's Outsider Art Fair, the premier showcase for self-taught artists.
