Police officer, sister admit bilking health insurer

A suspended Asbury Park police officer and his sister have pleaded guilty to insurance fraud.

Prosecutors say 38-year-old Alix Antoine of Neptune Township filed false documents to obtain health insurance from the police department for his sister and her son.

Antoine and his sister have agreed to pay nearly $190,000 in restitution.

A judge on Tuesday ordered Antoine to forfeit his job. He was a 12-year veteran of the police department.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 9.
