Highland Park resident Karl Kjer accused of secretly videotaping woman showering in his home

A Highland Park man is accused of secretly videotaping a 19-year-old woman who was showering in his home.

A spokesperson for the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office says Karl Kjer allegedly recorded the woman using a secret camera when she showered at his home on June 11, 2015.

The video was among several obtained by police, who are working to identify other victims.

Kjer no longer lives in Highland Park and resides in Jersey City, according to officials. He was charged on Feb. 17 with one count of invasion of privacy.

Potential victims and anyone who may have information about the crime are asked to call Detective Donald Newton of the Highland Park Police Department at 732-572-3800, or Detective Michael Connelly of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office at 732-745-4340.
