Suspect in drug sting rescued from cliff in Fort Lee after fleeing

Police in Bergen County say a suspect ended up stranded on a cliff after fleeing a drug sting.



According to authorities, officers executed a controlled drug purchase around 5:15 p.m. Monday in Fort Lee. Police say the suspect, Anthony Lora, fled into a wooded area near the George Washington Bridge.



Officials say Lora got caught in a tree as he attempted to climb down the Palisade Cliff.



Police rappel teams were called to rescue him.



Lora faces narcotics charges and charges for resisting arrest. Police say he is also wanted for an armed robbery from New York.
