Driver crashes into, badly damages Washington Township home

A driver crashed into and badly damaged a Washington Township home Monday.

Officials say it happened around 1:15 p.m. at 320 Mountain Ave.

Nancy Haner, who rents the home, says that the accelerator got stuck on her older neighbor's car, sending it flying across the street and into her home.

Haner says she was on her phone in the backyard at the time of the crash, otherwise she may have been hit. The car narrowly missed her 16-year-old golden retriever.

"[The car] actually went up and the dog was under the car and that's the only reason why he's still with us," Haner says.

Haner won't be able to stay in the home due to the amount of damage. She says that she will be staying with friends.
