Don Bosco Prep coach Greg Toal retiring after 33 seasons

The New Jersey high school football community is saying goodbye to a legend as Don Bosco Prep coach Greg Toal is retiring after 33 seasons.

Toal guided the Ironmen to football glory, most of it in the last 18 years, including nine state titles.

Under his leadership, the school became a national football powerhouse, often traveling out of state to beat great teams around the country.

Toal also coached at Saddle Brook, River Dell and Hackensack.

In all, Toal had 305 wins, 16 state titles, two national titles, and six News 12 New Jersey Gillen trophies, recognized as the best football team in the state.

Assistant coach Mike Teel is taking over the program. Teel was a onetime quarterback for Coach Toal at Don Bosco Prep, and was also the quarterback at Rutgers University too.
