New Jersey state trooper helps couple announce they are having a baby

A New Jersey state trooper helped give a couple an interesting way to announce that they were having a baby.

State police say one of their troopers pulled over a couple for speeding. The couple was apparently on the way to tell their parents that the wife was pregnant.

Instead of writing the couple a speeding ticket, he gave them a written warning. The warning was not for speeding, but for something which could be used as a birth announcement.

"I gave, 'Failure to use a car seat for a child under eight years old,'" he told the couple. He said when they told their parents they got a warning for not having a child in a car seat they could break the news that they were pregnant.

The trooper congratulated them and sent them on their way.

The encounter was captured on the trooper's dash camera, which the New Jersey State Police posted on their Facebook page.
