Playboy Magazine to return to featuring nude models next month

A former Playboy playmate from New Jersey is glad the magazine decided to return to featuring nude models.

The magazine announced last year that they would do away with nude photographs and focus more on articles. But Playboy announced this week that it will return to the old ways.

Madison resident Helena Antonaccio was a Playboy bunny and playmate in 1969. She was Miss June. She says that when the magazine decided to forego nude photos, she thought it was a bad idea.

"I really didn't think that was going to be good," she says. "I thought this might just tank the magazine in a way."

Playboy apparently agreed and says the nude photos will start up again next month. The magazine says that while the way nudity was portrayed was outdated, removing it completely was a mistake.

Antonaccio, 68, says the key for the magazine is to keep it tasteful.

"Playboy embraces women, their beauty," she says. "Women are really beautiful, let's face it."

Playboy will remove the slogan "Entertainment for Men" from the cover of future magazines.
