Bayonne Bridge to only feature cashless tolls

When the new Bayonne Bridge officially opens it will feature cashless tolls only.

The toll plazas have been taken out of service and replaced with overhead E-ZPass readers.

The Port Authority says that more than 90 percent of the drivers who use the bridge use E-ZPass, so the agency decided to do away with cash.

Motorists who do not have an E-ZPass account will receive a bill in the mail for the amount of the toll. Bills can be paid online, by mail, by phone or at a service center.

The agency says there will be late fees if the tolls are not paid on time.
