Corrections officer pleads guilty in inmate sex abuse case

A corrections officer accused of sexually abusing an inmate at New Jersey's only prison for women has pleaded guilty to official misconduct.

Thomas Seguine was one of four corrections officers at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility who were indicted last month on official misconduct and sexual abuse charges involving inmates at the site in Clinton.

Hunterdon County prosecutors say the 34-year-old Phillipsburg man will be sentenced April 21. He also will be barred from holding public employment in the state.

Prosecutors say the three other officers - Jason Mays, Ahnwar Dixon and Brian Ambroise - were all arraigned earlier this month. Telephone numbers for those officers could not be located Sunday.
