Shore residents take advantage of warm weather as major snowstorm looms

People at the Jersey Shore say that they took advantage of Wednesday's unseasonably warm weather before a snowstorm brings nearly a foot of snow.

Moms were out on the beach in Belmar having coffee while kids who have been cooped up inside all winter were able to play.

"Amazing to be able to be out here on the beach and on the playground in 60 degrees in February. I'll take that any day," says one mother.

Other people were out on the boardwalk exercising or just taking a stroll.

"It's amazing. So depressing with the weather the way it's been. To get out like this is awesome," says jogger Jim Mullevey. "Tomorrow it's snowing so let's get on the boards and run."

Temperatures reached 70 degrees in parts of the state Wednesday.

Forecasters are expecting 8 to 10 inches of snow Thursday, beginning around 4 a.m.
