New roller coaster at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights named Hydrus

SEASIDE HEIGHTS -

The new roller coaster at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights has been named Hydrus.

Casino Pier is being expanded onto the beach on the north side. According to officials, the new plans include more amusements, rides and attractions.

A new Ferris wheel is also planned to be built.

Hydrus will replace the Jet Star roller coaster, which fell into the ocean during Superstorm Sandy.

The pier expansion is expected to be completed by this summer.
