Body found in Lake Shenandoah Park confirmed as missing Lakewood teen Eliabit Mena

A body found in Lakewood believed to be that of a missing township teen has now been confirmed.



According to an exam done by the Ocean County Medical Examiner, the body in Lake Shenandoah Park has been confirmed as Eliabit Mena, 18, of Lakewood. 



The manner of death has been classified as a homicide. 



Mena's car was found at Shenandoah Lake Park after he was reported missing by his mother on Jan. 29.



A law enforcement source close to the investigation tells News 12 New Jersey that the death may have been gang-related.



The investigation is active and ongoing.
