Krispy Kreme opens store in Jersey City; second location in New Jersey

JERSEY CITY -

A staple of the south is closer to home in New Jersey with a Krispy Kreme store that opened in Jersey City this morning.

The store is on 95 Christopher Columbus Drive.

Krispy Kreme started back in the 1930s in North Carolina, and if you've visited the south, you know how popular they are.

The company opened its first store in Brick in 2003, but it has been closed for years.

There is another location in Camden.

Six more shops are coming to Bergen and Hudson counties over the next several years.

The franchisees say they're opening more shops in the state due to growing demand.
