Fire destroys multimillion-dollar mansion with history of vandalism in Colts Neck

A fire has completely destroyed a multimillion-dollar mansion in Colts Neck.

Firefighters from several neighboring towns were called in to assist.

The single-family, 15,000 square-foot home on 104 Cedar Drive was built in 2002. It has seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and just over four acres of land. Back in July 2015, it was listed for about $8 million.

"When I looked out the window I saw flames, I would guess they were 50 plus feet shooting up," says resident Rollie Langseth. "There was a lot of smoke and I could barely see and then around 2:00 a.m., there was a huge boom, pair of booms that just literally shook the place."

Rollie says neighbors called it the Monster since it was once owned by David Findel, the president of Worldwide Financial Resources in Morganville, who was arrested after allegedly selling phony mortgages in a move to cover losses during the real estate crisis.

There's also been a history of vandalism in and around the home with much of the graffiti videotaped and posted on YouTube.

The video has since gone viral with over a million views.
