Boyfriend of missing Belleville woman pleads not guilty to murder

The boyfriend of a missing Belleville woman found dead inside the trunk of her car pleaded not guilty to her murder Wednesday.

Pedro Lora Pena is accused of killing 41-year-old Diana Boggio, putting her body in the trunk of her Honda Accord, and then abandoning the car on Verona Avenue in Newark.

Pena heard the charges against him through a Spanish interpreter. He made his plea and was ordered to be held without bail.

Boggio's ex-husband Daniel Boggio came to the court hearing when he heard about his former wife's murder. He told News 12 New Jersey that he and Boggio have two adult children, one who has autism.

Boggio's body was found Tuesday morning after she was reported missing over the weekend. Boggio apparently shared an apartment with Pena in Belleville.

Investigators believe Pena killed Boggio in an undetermined location and then brought her body to Newark.
