Police: Woman throws child onto train tracks

A woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly throwing a child she didn't know in front of a Light Rail Train.

Police were initially called to High and Broad streets in Burlington City for suspicious activity.

When officers arrived and approached Autumn Mataccheira, 20, they say she grabbed a 5-year-old girl, who she didn't know, and threw her onto the tracks.

Back-up officers were able to quickly get the approaching train to stop as the child was removed from the tracks by her mother's boyfriend.

The girl suffered bruises and cuts but is expected to be OK.
