Man arrested after trying to break into firehouse

Jersey City police arrested a man Saturday accused of breaking into a city firehouse while firefighters were on a call.

Antwan Barfield, 29, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. after police identified him on Friday night.

Barfield was arrested about two miles away from the crime scene after he tried to flee from police.

He is accused of stealing wallets and personal items from the firefighters while they were out rescuing a 16-year-old boy.
