Man gets prison term for storing child porn on cellphone

(AP) - A man who had hundreds of images of child pornography on his cellphone has been sentenced to five years in state prison.

Union County prosecutors say Robert Wood was sentenced Friday. It was made public on Monday.

The 35-year-old Linden man had pleaded guilty in November to possessing child porn.

The investigation that led to Wood's arrest last July started with a referral from the Galt, California police department. Authorities eventually found that Wood had more than 700 child porn images stored on his cell phone.
