Crews tend to water main break in Hoboken

Crews worked through the day Saturday to repair an early morning water main break in Hoboken.

News 12 is told that an 8-inch main burst at the intersection of Clinton and Second streets around 6 a.m. Parts of those streets were closed Saturday while crews isolated the break and opened the street to make repairs.

Officials say the water main break was already the fourth this year and the second occurring on Saturday.

News 12 is told that the break is blamed on a combination of an aging pipe system and the recent drastic swings in temperature.

As of 4 p.m. Saturday, SUEZ Water officials said the repairs were complete and that the water main was back in service.
