Water main break repaired on Observer Highway in Hoboken

Repairs are complete on a 16-inch water main that broke in Hoboken Wednesday morning.

SUEZ Water officials say the main broke around 3:30 a.m. and shut down Observer Highway from Garden Street to Willow Street. It took crews about three hours to stop the gushing water and reopen the roadway.

Residents say they were annoyed by the inconvenience, but not surprised.

"I woke up actually trying to shower, there was no water. There's bottled water, I kind of used that," says Brianne Sweeney.

Morgan Brown says water main breaks happen "at least once a cold season" in Hoboken.

SUEZ Water provided cases of bottled water for residents while the repairs were made.
