Trains running at new Second Avenue subway line

Trains were running Monday morning on the new Second Avenue subway line.

The three new stations opened to the public Sunday afternoon.

Approximately 200,000 commuters are expected to ride the line daily.

The nearly two-mile segment adds stations along Second Avenue at 96th, 86th and 72nd streets.

The city's transportation board first envisioned a Second Avenue subway in 1929.
