Paterson police shoot, injure suspect during domestic dispute call

Paterson police officers have shot and injured a suspect while responding to a domestic dispute call.



The incident happened on the 100 block of Martin Street in Paterson around 1 p.m. Friday.



News 12 New Jersey is told that two officers responded to the call and when one of the officers went upstairs he was confronted by a suspect who opened fire.



Officials say that officer returned fire and struck the suspect twice.



The suspect and the officer were taken to the hospital to be checked out. The suspect had injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
