Turtle Back Zoo looking for new volunteer docents to act as guides
The Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange is looking for a new batch of volunteers for its docent program.
The docents will act as guides, give educational talks and provide information about the zoo to visitors.
Volunteers do not need to have a background in biology or zoology. They just need to have a love of animals and helping others.
"It's a great program for the children, and I enjoy the animals," says volunteer Peter Kauffman. "It's great being a retired individual. It gives me something to do that I feel is worthwhile."
Information about becoming a volunteer can be found at the Turtle Back Zoo's website.
