Police identify victim in Plainfield shooting as 18-year-old Manuel Berrios

The Union County Prosecutor's Office has identified the 18-year-old man killed in Monday night's shooting in Plainfield.



Manuel Berrios died Tuesday morning after he was shot on the 600 block of East Third Street around 9:40 p.m. Monday. Another person was also shot.



That second victim, who was not identified, had to undergo surgery and remains in the hospital as of Tuesday night.



Berrios's death marks the 11th homicide in Plainfield for 2016.
