Scotch Plains hosts menorah lighting

Sunday marked the first full day of Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights.

On Saturday night, Scotch Plains hosted a menorah lighting.

Families gathered to watch as the first of eight candles was lit.

Every child in attendance was given a dreidel and light stick while munching on latkes and doughnuts.

The rabbi overseeing the event made an effort to remind the faithful that they all have God within them.
