Shoppers pick up last-minute holiday gifts

Last-minute shoppers were busy hitting stores Friday to finish getting their holiday gifts.



Plenty of shoppers packed the Kmart in Kearny with their lists in hand.



The 2016 holiday shopping season has so far been less than merry for brick-and-mortar stores. More shoppers are turning to online retailers, setting shipping records this year.



In the past two years, Super Saturday -- the Saturday proceeding Christmas -- topped Black Friday sales figures.



Many stores will be open on Christmas Eve, including the Kearny Kmart, which opens its doors at 6 a.m.
