Firefighter suffers medical issue on way to battle Clark house fire

A firefighter suffered a medical issue while on his way to battle a house fire in Clark Thursday afternoon.

Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso says that the firefighter is expected to be OK and was not injured fighting the blaze.

The fire broke out on Crescent Parkway around 1:30 p.m. The homeowner had left for a short while and came back to find his home engulfed in flames.

"With the amount of flames coming down, two police officers told me earlier that when they got in the front door they couldn't even get near the stairs going upstairs," the mayor says.

The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
