A 36-year-old Jersey City man is accused of using a sword, a meat cleaver and a knife to kill his mother and grandmother, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Kevin Hodges is accused of killing his mother Rebecca Hodges, 56, and his grandmother Dorothy Bradshaw, 76, Monday night.

Jersey City police were called to the Randolph Street apartment shared by the victims after neighbors reported screams around 8:30 p.m. Officers say they found the two women inside the unit unresponsive.

Kevin Hodges was found nearby. Authorities say that he was covered in blood and told officers that he had just stabbed his mother.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez did not immediately release a motive in the crime. Bail was set at $4 million.
