Heavy rain causes flooding throughout Newark

The city of Newark battled flooding all throughout the day Tuesday.
Some of the worst of the flooding happened at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Avenue L.
Emergency responders went to the scene, and authorities say fire crews helped a man out of his car. That car was abandoned at the intersection with nearly a foot of water all around it.
The intersection was closed sometime after 5:30 p.m., but traffic was still going through the area.
It was just three months ago when there was noticeable flooding along South Street, and, at that time, there were also reports of flooding along Wilson Avenue.
On Clay Street, major flooding struck last February and repeated during the summer months.
