A water main break has left an entire Sussex County town without water on Thanksgiving Day.

Newton police say that a 16-inch water main broke on Sparta Avenue around 7 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say that repairs are expected to take a while.

The town is attempting to switch to a backup water main.
