Police: Hamilton woman accidentally shoots, kills friend

A Hamilton woman accidentally shot and killed her friend who was visiting her, police say.



The incident happened at the intersection of Genesee Street and East Park Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday.



Hamilton police 50-year-old Kelvin Watford was fatally shot in the chest.



Police say the woman was on the phone with Watford when she heard noises and her dog started barking.



News 12 is told that Watford said he was not in the immediate area, but actually was.



The woman grabbed a gun and fired a shot before realizing who was there.



No charges have been filed at this time.
