School bus driver killed in fiery collision with SUV in Colts Neck

The school bus driver involved in a serious collision with a Dodge Durango SUV in Colts Neck Tuesday afternoon has died.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says that the identity of the driver is being withheld until family can be notified.
Authorities say the 16-passenger school bus and the SUV collided on Phalanx Road Tuesday afternoon while attempting to go along a sharp turn near the Monmouth Reservoir.
The Durango had its front end ripped off, and the bus was destroyed by a fire.
Officials say that in addition to the bus driver, a school bus aide and one student were on board the bus at the time of crash. Officials originally said that no students were on board. The aide and the student were treated for injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
The extent of the injuries to the driver of the SUV was not immediately known.
Phalanx Road was closed for a time but has since been reopened.
Police are investigating what caused the two vehicles to collide.
