Police: Man robbed, stabbed inside Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge

State police say that a man was robbed and stabbed in the stomach while he was walking through the Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge in Wantage.

Officials say that the victim was walking on the Wood Duck Nature Trail in the Refuge around 2 p.m. Thursday when he was attacked by a white man wearing a blue hoodie.

Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies searched the area for the suspect, but did not make any arrests.

The victim was taken to the Newton Medical Center with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
