Paralyzed ex-trooper proposes before New York Giants game
New Jersey State Police have released a video on Facebook showing a paralyzed retired trooper proposing to his fiancee before a New York Giants game at MetLife Stadium.

Retired Trooper Brian Malast surprised his girlfriend Julie Herb and proposed on the field in East Rutherford before Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Malast was paralyzed from the neck down in a car accident while on the job in 2005. He breathes with the help of a ventilator and attends therapy sessions twice a week.

Malast's longtime friend James Turner presented the ring to Herb, who accepted Malast's proposal.
The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
