59th annual Veterans Day Parade held in Middletown

Middletown residents lined the streets Sunday for the town's 59th annual Veterans Day Parade.

The parade honored members of all branches of the military, as well as commemorated the 50th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War.

Many veterans at the parade said it reminded them of their fallen brothers and sisters.

"I still remember them at times. Especially a day like today and you wish they were here alongside with you," said Joe Diniz, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

The event was hosted by Middletown's mayor, its Township Committee, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179 and its auxiliary, which is located in Port Monmouth.
