Sources: Ex-Monmouth University football player Keith Williams charged with armed robbery

Sources say the gunman responsible for Tuesday night's lockdown at Monmouth University was a member of the school's football team.
News 12 New Jersey has learned that Keith Williams, 18, was arrested and charged with armed robbery by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
Officials say that Williams used a fake gun in an attempted robbery of two female students at 9:17 p.m. Tuesday. Williams was allegedly wearing dark clothing and a mask and demanded that the two students hand over their cellphones.
The girls ran away without giving up their phones and then called police. Williams allegedly fled through an underpass to the north campus.
University officials put the school on lockdown as a precaution because they believed an armed suspect was on campus.
Williams was arrested inside a campus dormitory just before 11 p.m. Police recovered a fake gun that resembled a black semi-automatic handgun. The lockdown was lifted at 12:11 a.m.
Sources tell News 12 New Jersey that Williams was kicked off the football team.
