Longtime Elmwood Park mayor passes away at age 80

The longtime mayor of Elmwood Park, Richard Mola, passed away this week.
Mola, 80, took office in 1972.
Keith Kazmark worked alongside Mola for the last nine years as borough clerk. He says while in office, Mola left his fingerprint on the construction of the recreation center and library.
The two men had a unique relationship, as Kazmark is a Democrat and also a mayor in Woodland Park.
"The day before he fell ill, he was out putting lawn signs on people's lawns and knocking on doors asking to support his ticket this year," he says.
Kazmark says he learned a lot from Mola and greatly appreciated their friendship.
Mola leaves behind his wife, Geraldine, and three daughters.
