Police: Child stole money from Lakewood bus driver who locked students on bus

Lakewood police say that they believe a child stole money from a Lakewood bus driver who reportedly refused to let the children off the bus while he yelled at them.

Police say they reviewed video recorded on the bus that appears to show a student take $35 from the bus driver. That student was dropped off at home before the driver noticed.

Parents of the Oak Street Elementary School students were upset last week after the driver refused to let the children off the bus.

The Klarr Transportation driver pulled into a parking lot. Parents heard the students screaming and called police.

Police say they do not plan on charging the driver with any crime.
