11-year-old boy interrupts burglary at Wayne home; police seek identification

Wayne Township police say an 11-year-old boy interrupted a burglary in his home, and now police are searching for a suspect.

Police say the boy came home around 3:20 p.m. Monday and found a man inside his home in the Pines Lake section of town. The boy ran from the home to a neighbor's house and called police.

The boy was not hurt.

The home's security camera captured some images of the suspect. He is described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall. He has a medium build and had a moustache and goatee. Police say he fled the house from the rear sliding glass patio door.

Anyone who may recognize the suspect is asked to call the Wayne Police Detective Bureau at 973-633-3530 or Det. Dave Collins at 973-633-3533.
