2 incidents reported at Newark Liberty International Airport; no injuries

Two incidents at Newark Liberty International Airport had first responders on alert, but luckily no one was injured.
The first incident involved United Flight 52 en route from Paris. The crew declared an emergency when they noted a mechanical problem with the plane's flaps.
The issues were minor and the plane landed safely around 1:20 p.m.
The second incident happened several hours later when a Lufthansa plane and United Flight 88 clipped their wings on the runway around 5:45 p.m.
Both planes were damaged, but no passengers were hurt. The Lufthansa plane was empty at the time.
