A fatal accident caused major traffic backups on the Garden State Parkway in Union County Wednesday evening.
New Jersey State Police say a five-car accident closed three lanes near Exit 135 in Clark Township around 7:45 p.m.
At least one person was killed. Police did not immediately release information on if there were other injuries.
Traffic was being diverted off the Parkway at Exit 135. The lanes were reopened just after midnight Thursday.
