Police: 2 dead, 1 injured in Pittstown small plane crash

Police say that two people were killed and a third person was injured when a small plane crashed Sunday near a private airport in Hunterdon County.
State police say the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. at the Sky Manor Airport.
The airport is located just off Route 615, about two miles outside of Pittstown.
The FAA says that while the Mooney M20 was attempting to land, the engine stalled and the plane went down in a field about a half-mile from the end of the runway, just missing a house.

State police say one person survived the crash and has injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Details have not yet been provided regarding who was on board and where they were arriving from, but the airport's management tells News 12 that the pilot of the plane was based out of Trenton.
The Sky Cafe, located at the airport, was busy with people at the time of the incident. About 100 people were outside watching the incident at the time of the crash, according to owner Rosella Caloiero.
