Judge rules ballot question about Ringwood Superfund site unclear

A Passaic County judge has ruled that a ballot question about the proposed Ringwood Superfund site is unclear and thus cannot be on the November ballot, according to a report by The Record.
The judge ruled that the question was poorly worded and would breach a contract between Ringwood and Ford.
The ballot question would have allowed Ringwood residents to decide whether or not to remove 150,000 tons of contaminated soil from the former Ford Motor Company site.
The plan to remove the soil would cost about $32.6 million. Ringwood officials support a $5.4 million plan to cap the Superfund site.
